What is Herbalism?
Herbalism is a holistic practice that works with the natural properties of herbs and plants to support the body’s innate ability to restore balance and well-being. Our approach is personalized to each individual. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we take the time to understand your health history, current concerns, medications, supplements, allergies, and overall wellness before developing a supportive herbal plan. For clients managing more complex health concerns, we take an especially thorough approach to help identify potential contraindications and create a plan that complements, rather than conflicts with, your existing care.
Our goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized support that works alongside your existing medical care.

Your journey begins with a complimentary phone consultation. During this initial conversation, you’ll have the opportunity to share your primary health concerns, goals, and what you’re hoping to receive from herbal support.

This may include the following:
Diagnosis and current health conditions
Diagnosis type or stage (when applicable)
Most recent bloodwork or laboratory results
Current medications, including dosage and strength
Vitamins and supplements
Known allergies or sensitivities
Current treatment or plan of care from your medical team
Other relevant health history

My Story
Sandra Monárrez - Reiki Master/Teacher Healer & Herbalist
I started smoking at 13. By 18, I was smoking a pack a day. In the 1970s, it was considered cool…until more than 35 years later, my lungs told a different story. My breathing had become shallow, my lung capacity was severely diminished, and cancer ran deep in my family. When my doctor examined me, he feared I had either cancer or COPD. I was referred for testing, but it would take 30 days just to get the appointments. That was my wake-up call. I realized I didn’t want to die that way. I wanted to live. I began working intensely to quit smoking and committed to a daily healing practice that included aromatherapy. Within 30 days, my breathing had dramatically improved. When I finally completed my tests, my doctor was stunned; the results showed no signs of the disease he had feared, my lung capacity was back to normal, and I felt good. That moment changed the direction of my life. Years passed, I studied, practiced and became a Reiki Master Teacher/Energy Healer, Herbalist, Aromatherapist, and more. But my healing journey was far from over, and I believe lessons were yet to be learned on my path as a healer. In August 2023, I was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. By July 2024, I had Lymphoma as well. Then came another diagnosis: MGUS, which progressed to Smoldering Myeloma—the precursor to multiple myeloma.
Three cancers. One body.
I had a choice: surrender to fear, or step fully into the healer I had become. I chose to heal.
I followed my doctors’ recommendations, underwent surgery, took prescribed medications, and respected the medical path. At the same time, I committed to an integrative healing practice that included nutrition, meditation, energy work, herbs, essential oils, and supplements, working alongside my medical team and adapting my approach to my lab work and individual needs. Self-healing became my daily sacred practice. And then something remarkable happened: My mammograms showed no lumps or bumps, my bloodwork began normalizing, and my myeloma markers, which were expected to rise, began moving in the opposite direction. Today, I am in remission from all cancer.
My story is not about choosing one path over another; it is about taking an active role in my healing, honoring my medical care, and embracing every supportive practice that gives my body, mind, and spirit the best opportunity to heal.
What I know now is this:
We are more powerful than we realize. Healing is a journey of courage, intention, trust, and action. I chose to make myself a priority, and that choice changed everything.
My healing continues. My purpose continues. And my story is still unfolding.
Today I am working with others who are going through similar health issues and who need supportive care to build up their immune systems, giving them the best opportunity to not only fight but survive and thrive.
